On 31 October the Board of Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania adopted a resolution appointing the Ombudsperson for Equal Opportunities Aušrinė Burneikienė to substitute the Ombudsperson for Children's Rights Edita Žiobienė for the period of her pregnancy and maternity leave.

Aušrinė Burneikienė should preside over the Institution of the Ombudsperson for Children's Rights and the Office of Equal Opportunities Ombudsperson until 24 April 2013.
